The Society for Vascular Ultrasound is pleased to announce the formation of the SVU Foundation!
The SVU Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization established to support the vascular ultrasound community.
The SVU Foundation will support:
-Research Grants to Advance the Profession of Vascular Ultrasound
-Vascular Ultrasound Education & Scholarships
Donating is simple and can be done at anytime, including during renewal of SVU membership dues.
SVU was incorporated in 1977 as a 501(c)3. In August 2017, SVU members approved transferring their membership to a newly established 501(c)6 professional society. The SVU Board of Directors approved the bylaws and the transfer of Membership and Operations to the 501(c)6 in November 2017. As part of this process, the 501(c)6 is now the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, Inc. (SVU).
The 501(c)3 name was changed from Society for Vascular Ultrasound to the SVU Foundation. As a separate organization, the Foundation will have its own Board of Directors, budget, accounts, and record-keeping. It is now a Research and Education foundation. SVU members interested in supporting the SVU Foundation can make contributions to the Anne Jones Scholarship Fund and/or attend the Foundation event at the Annual Conference.
The Foundation will spearhead SVU's research efforts through the Quality Improvement and Research Committee (QIRC).
