Sheila Byrd-Raynor Receives 2007 Dr. D.E. Strandness Scientific Award

The 2007 SVU D.E. Strandness, MD, Scientific Award for the outstanding oral presentation of scientific research in vascular technology at the SVU Annual Conference was presented in Baltimore to Sheila Byrd-Raynor, PhD RVT, of the International Centre for Circulatory Health, Imperial College, London, United Kingdom.

She received the award for her scientific paper on "The Relationship between Velocity and Cerebral Resistance during Vasomotor Reactivity Testing." Parks Medical Electronics, Aloha, OR, sponsored the 2007 D.E. Strandness, MD, Scientific Award for excellence in research for a third year.

This award was established in 1987 in honor of Dr. D.E. Strandness, the acknowledged "Father of Noninvasive Diagnosis," who died in January 2002. It is presented annually to a member, or an individual who is sponsored by a current SVU member, who is the primary author and presenter of a scientific paper selected for presentation at the Annual Conference. Its purpose is to recognize outstanding scientific research.
