Carol Kozusko Appointed as 2007 Student Representative to the SVU Board

Carol Kozusko, a student at Morristown Memorial Hospital, was recently selected as the new Student Representative on the SVU Board of Directors for 2007. She was selected by a judging panel of SVU Fellows who reviewed her application and essay on why she would like to serve on the SVU Board as the Student Representative.

In her application essay Carol stated: “I welcome the tremendous opportunity to grow from a student to a professional in the SVU organization. I am interested in learning more about the society, its members, its goals, networking opportunities, student involvement and how I can be a continuing addition to this team. It would be a great experience and my pleasure to be selected as student representative to the SVU Board of Directors and share this experience with fellow students, and future students to come.”

As the new Student Representative on the Board, Carol is required to attend the June 6, 2007 SVU Board of Directors meeting in Baltimore prior to the start of SVU’s 2007 Annual Conference there, as well as the December 2007 Board meeting in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, at Nova Southeastern University. She also has the option of serving for a year on either the Chapters Subcommittee or the Membership Subcommittee.

The appointed student representative position is a one-year, unpaid and non-voting term on the Board through April 30, 2008. Carol is expected to present the student’s perspective on various issues addressed by the SVU Board. SVU will reimburse her for her travel expenses to attend the two Board meetings and also provide a hotel room for her.

Carol will be profiled in a future issue of the monthly e-Spectrum online newsletter.
