Register Now Online to Attend SVU’s 30th Anniversary Annual Conference in Baltimore in June

Now is the time for you to register online if you plan to attend the Society for Vascular Ultrasound’s (SVU) 30th Anniversary Annual Conference, June 7-9, 2007 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel, which is SVU’s headquarters hotel, is connected to the Baltimore Convention Center by a second floor walkway. SVU’s 2007 Annual Conference is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge of the vascular professional. By attending this exciting educational and networking opportunity, you also can help pay tribute to SVU’s 30 years of service to the vascular ultrasound profession by attending the 30th Anniversary Gala Reception on Friday night, June 8, at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel.

You may wonder why there is an additional $25 charge to attend the 30th Anniversary Gala Reception on Friday night, June 8. The reason is that the Baltimore Inner Harbor, where the Baltimore Convention Center and the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel are located, is a very vibrant and exciting area offering many restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, a Baltimore Orioles baseball game at nearby Camden Yards, and numerous tourist attractions that might be of interest to SVU Annual Conference attendees. SVU must give a food and beverage guarantee to the hotel for the Gala Reception. But we don’t want to give a high guarantee based on the number of SVU Annual Conference registrants and find out that many of them decided not to attend the Gala Reception and do something else in Baltimore on Friday night – which will cost a lot of wasted money for food and beverages at the Gala Reception from non-attendees. Thus, the SVU Annual Conference Committee and Board of Directors decided that if we require the Annual Conference attendees to pay a nominal fee to attend the reception, they are more likely to attend it to get their money’s worth. For the $25 fee you will get a very nice buffet dinner, tickets for 2 drinks from the bar (followed by a cash bar), a DJ to provide music from the 1970’s to today for singing and dancing from 7-11 pm, special 30th anniversary fun and games, and special guests. You won’t find a better dinner bargain in Baltimore Friday night, and you will help join in the celebration of SVU’s 30th Anniversary.

Visit the SVU website (www.svunet.org) Annual Conference listing under events for the detailed 2007 AC Preliminary Program. Online AC registration and online hotel room reservations at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel both are available now via the SVU Annual Conference listing on the website.
