Discount Registration for Chapter Presidents to Attend 2007 SVU Annual Conference

All SVU Affiliated Chapter Presidents are invited to attend the 2007 SVU Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD, June 7-9, at a 50% discount of the SVU Annual Conference registration fee, provided they are a member of SVU.

We will be holding the annual Chapters/Membership Subcommittee’s joint meeting on Friday evening, June 8, from 5:00-6:00 pm. This is a great forum to have your issues and suggestions addressed. It also is an excellent opportunity to meet with the Chapters Subcommittee, SVU Board members and staff.

There will be a Chapters Breakfast on Friday morning, June 8, from 7:00-8:15 am to provide an opportunity for conference attendees to meet with representatives of the various local and regional chapters regarding membership. The Affiliated Chapters are urged to help sponsor the Chapters Breakfast by making a contribution to SVU to help cover the cost of the breakfast. Please send an email to Missi McLean at mmclean@svunet.org regarding the amount of your chapter’s contribution for the Chapter’s Breakfast.

Outstanding Chapter Recognition Award

Please send in your nomination for the SVU Affiliated Chapter Recognition Award to be presented in June at the SVU Annual Conference in Baltimore. This award recognizes an outstanding SVU Affiliated Chapter for its own membership efforts and in support of SVU’s membership efforts. The North Jersey Vascular Association (NJVA) received this award in June 2006 at SVU’s Annual Conference in Philadelphia. All Outstanding Affiliated Chapter Award nominations should be sent by May 1 directly to Paula Walsh at pmwalsh@challiance.org.

Affiliated Chapter Individual Recognition Award

The Chapters Subcommittee also is soliciting nominations now for the Outstanding Chapter Individual Recognition Award to be presented at the 2007 SVU Annual Conference in Baltimore in June. This award goes to an individual in your chapter who donates much time and effort to your chapter, and has an unending desire to see your chapter succeed. In June 2006 at the SVV Annual Conference in Philadelphia this award was presented to Kathleen Garcia, BA, RVT, RDCS, of the Houston Society of Noninvasive Vascular Technology Chapter (HSNIVT). Please submit your nominations by May 1 to pmwalsh@challiance.org with reasons as to why this person in an affiliated chapter is deserving of this award.

North Carolina Vascular Technologists

The NCVT Spring meeting will be held April 21-22 at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC. The organization has applied for 10 CME’s for the program. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the following officers:

North Jersey Vascular Association

The NJVA Spring meeting will be April 28 at Morristown Hospital in Morristown, NJ. Elections for all officers will be held at this meeting. Additional details to follow.

Northwest Vascular Technologists

The D. Eugene Strandness, Jr. Symposium 2007 of the Northwest Vascular Technologists (NWVT) was held January 15-19 at the Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii. There were 11 Category 1 CME’s awarded to those attending the full 2 day conference.

2007 Chapter Dues Payments are now Overdue

As of the end of February, 15 of the 24 SVU Affiliated Chapters have paid their 2007 SVU Chapter dues. Affiliated Chapter Presidents need to check to see if your Affiliated Chapter is one of the 9 Chapters that have not yet paid their 2007 chapter dues to SVU, which was due at the end of January. Chapters also are required to submit to SVU the list of their 2007 chapter officers and a list of their membership. If you have any questions, please call Missi McLean at 800-788-8346.
