A Board of Directors for NWVT was developed with the first meeting scheduled for late August. The NWVT Annual Conference is scheduled for Oct 7-8, in Edmonds, WA. Red River Valley Vascular Society Chapter Meeting Set for September 22-23The Red River Valley Vascular Society (RRVVS) affiliated chapter meeting will be September 22-23 in Bismarck, ND. Topics being presented include: “Carotid, Renal and Peripheral Stents: The Influence of Stents on Artery Flow Dynamics” by Gail Sandager-Hadley, RN RVT FSVU; an “ICAVL Update” by Gail Size, BS RVT RVS; “IMT Measurements and Protocols” by Dan Petry, RDMS; and “Diagnostic Challenges: Unusual Pathologies” by Mani Montezuma, RDMS. There will be a social hour and scheduled time with the exhibitors. North Jersey Vascular Association Chapter Annual Fall Meeting Set for Oct. 7The North Jersey Vascular Association (NJVA) affiliated chapter will have its Annual Fall Meeting on Saturday, October 7, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. Steve Haracznak, SVU Executive Director, will be a guest speaker, as well as former SVU Board Director Bill Zang, now with GE Medical. Also several wonderful lectures are planned as well as a student presentation. Joint KVS/ONKIVT meeting set for October 28The plans are coming along for a combined meeting of the Kentucky Vascular Society (KVS) and the Ohio-Northern Kentucky-Indiana Vascular Society (ONKIVT). Tentative meeting date is October 28 at the Northern Kentucky METS Center in Florence, KY. Speakers include cardiologist Dr. Gurley, who will speak on PFO closure; an IT expert speaking on PACS/mini-PACS; a vascular surgeon speaking on venous ablation; an ergonomics speaker; and our own SVU President-Elect Michael Schwebler. Several other speakers are planned and 4-5 CMEs will be offered.
