August 2006 | Vol. 24, No. 8 Chapter NewsBy Shelly Burns, RVT LPN Kentucky Vascular AssociationThe Kentucky Vascular Society (KVS) is planning a chapter meeting for Aug. 8, 2006 in Bardstown, KY, at Flaget Hospital. Two CMEs will be offered for the meeting. There will be a review of a tape on ergonomics from Joan Baker of Sound Ergonomics, and a Journal for Vascular Ultrasound (JVU) article. KVS is at the beginning stage of trying to move toward a digital format for communicating to its membership. They have gotten most of their members on an electronic list, and they are going to try to develop an e-communication for meeting notices and then move toward “chatting” via the Vascular-web.com website with the help of Gail Size. This will allow discussion of meeting topics and take care of business via the web since they are in such a geographically diverse area. Greater Boston Vascular TechnologistsThe Greater Boston Vascular Technologists (GBVT) chapter is in the process of planning a fall meeting. Potential topics include: IMT measurements, carotid artery diagnostic criteria, case studies, and updates on minimally invasive options for PVD. They hope to be able to offer 4 CMEs to their attendees. |
