SVU Pre-Annual Conference Sessions Focus on Lab and Career Issues

As we all look forward to SVU's 29th Annual Conference at the Vascular Annual Meeting 2006 on June 1-3, 2006 in Philadelphia, we are especially excited about the lineup of Pre-Annual Conference Sessions on Wednesday, May 31.

From 1-4 pm on Wednesday, you have two options. The first option is Cindy Weiland, RRT RVT, Director of Accreditation for ICAVL, who will give a Free (registration required) workshop on the ins and outs of the ICAVL accreditation process. This is always a very popular workshop and extremely useful for those new to the vascular lab accreditation process or those with questions about their particular lab situation.

The second option on Wednesday afternoon is a session on "The Digital Age: Transition to a Digital Lab" sponsored by GE Healthcare. Philip Bendick, PhD RVT, and Claudia Benge, RVT RDMS RDCS, will show you the ingenuity of the ultrasound digital lab and how it can benefit you, your practice and your patients. They will discuss automatic data transfer, online and offline editing, reduced workload and increased throughput, as well as simplified physician review. If you are trying to update to a digital vascular lab, this session is not to be missed. Registration and a small fee required.

On the evening of Wednesday, May 31, from 5:30-7:30 pm, SVU is offering a session on "Career Development - If You Do Not Change, You Will Become Extinct". Moderated by Kathleen Palmieri, RVT, this session will have several speakers covering vital topics that will affect your career. Anne Marie Kupinski, PhD RVT FSVU, will discuss your career choices in vascular technology; Kathleen Palmieri, RVT, will delve into cross training issues; and Terry Case, MEd RVT, will provide suggestions for improving professionalism, marketability and lab success with mentoring in the vascular lab.

Both the Digital Age and the Career Development session have a small registration fee, so don't miss the Early Registration deadline of May 19 to get your discounted rate.
