January 2006 | Vol. 24, No. 1 Industry NewsARDMS Exam Retake Waiting Period Changed to 60 DaysARDMS has announced its examination retake policy has been changed from a 90-day waiting period to a 60-day waiting period. Candidates who are notified of an unsuccessful examination result now will only need to wait a minimum of 60 days before being able to retake that same examination. This policy change is effective Jan. 1, 2006 and shall be reflected in the ARDMS Information and Examination Application Booklet and on the ARDMS Web site. This change in the retake policy will not jeopardize test security or the quality of the ARDMS examinations. Please refer to the “Retaking Examinations” section of the ARDMS website (www.ardms.org) for more information. CMS Announces New and Improved WebsiteThe Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a new and improved CMS website located at www.cms.hhs.gov. The new website employs a user-friendly design to get visitors the information they need with the least amount of clicks. It introduces one-stop shopping “centers” targeted to specific professionals such as providers and partners, who frequent the site. CMS will continue to evaluate the new website in order to provide the best organization and navigation – so you, as a user, can continue to retrieve the information you are looking for in the most efficient way possible.
