SVU Hurricane Relief Efforts

Because the combined Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita disasters in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas has had a profound impact on many Americans, including SVU members living in those states, the SVU Executive Committee recently met by conference call and authorized equal financial contributions on behalf of SVU’s membership to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Funds of the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army. SVU members also are urged, if possible, to make their own financial contributions to a Hurricane Katrina and/or Hurricane Rita relief fund of their choice.

In addition, SVU offers its Online Job Center on the SVU website as a resource to help out of work vascular ultrasound professionals affected by Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita find new positions in the southeast and across the country.
