New Easy Access to JVU Online
The Journal for Vascular Ultrasound (JVU) online version is now available for FREE exclusively to SVU members through the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) website. In an effort to bring SVU members easier access to the online version of the Journal, SVU has been working with IngentaConnect, our online service provider. SVU is happy to announce that as of this month, SVU members can throw away their IngentaConnect username and password. We have redesigned the SVU and JVU websites so that SVU members can access the Journal by entering their SVU member username and password. There is no more separate registration required! Once you are recognized as a SVU member, you will have access to the JVU online version.
How to Access JVU Online
- Go to the SVU website at www.svunet.org. Click on the link for the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound.
- Choose and click on whether you are a SVU Member or a Nonmember Visitor.
- SVU members are asked to enter their SVU username (last name) and password (SVU member ID number).
- The next screen will show you a listing of all available online issues of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound and its predecessor the Journal of Vascular Technology. Click on the issue you wish to view. This will take you to the IngentaConnect site where you can review the issue's contents. Clicking on a specific article will bring up the abstract (if available) for that article.
- If you logged in as a member, you will also be able to download the entire text of each article at no charge. (Nonmembers can download the full text for a fee.) On the article abstract page, look for a “PDF” link at the bottom of the page. Click on this to view the full article. Viewing articles requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. The PDFs will take a few minutes to download.
Forgot your SVU Password?
Your username (last name) and password (SVU Member ID) can be found on your SVU Membership Card as well as on a mailing label from any issue of JVU. Please make sure you enter the information exactly as you see it, including initial caps, hyphenation, and spaces. For example: McDonald-Johnson.
Why are JVU and JVT kept separately on the IngentaConnect site?
The Journal for Vascular Ultrasound and its predecessor the Journal of Vascular Technology are located on different sites at IngentaConnect. It is separated under the two names because the issues are indexed separately in the Library of Congress and cross referenced in Google.
The online versions of the journals are available from year 2000 to present. The issues for years 2000 to 2002 (Vols. 24-26) are under Journal of Vascular Technology. Issues 2003 to present (Vols 27-current issue) are located on the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound site. There are links to both sites from each page.
Problems?
If you have entered into IngentaConnect as a SVU member you will see a before each article. This indicates that you will have access to the full text PDF for that article. If you are having problems accessing your online member subscription to JVU, please review our Online JVU Help Page (http://www.svunet.org/JVU/help.htm) or contact the SVU office.
