President’s Message

We Did It—With Your Help!

Now that the 28th SVU Annual Conference has come and gone, I would like to take this opportunity to convey my thanks to you, the membership, for your commitment to the success of this year’s SVU Annual Conference. The meeting was an overwhelming success. The scientific session speakers and the invited speakers are to be commended for their hard work and excellent presentations. Kudos are also due to Kathy Carter and her Annual Conference Program Committee for a job well done.

I also want to acknowledge those, who in response to my Presidential Address in Chicago that they get involved, recognized the value and importance of membership in the Society and signed on as new members. Fifteen new members joined at the AC. Thank you and congratulations on your decision.

The Law of Sacrifice says: If your vision doesn’t cost you something -- it’s a daydream. There is still much to do in order to fulfill the various initiatives outlined in our Strategic Plan, Vision 2005. I will remind you once again of our membership recruitment theme, Each One, Reach One. Your individual efforts will go a long way towards helping to execute our Strategic Plan and you will experience fulfillment through your contribution. We did great work in May and June towards that goal and I want to encourage the membership to keep up the great work.
