On-Site Registration Available for SVU Annual Conference in Chicago

As of today we now have 338 people registered for SVU’s 28th Annual Conference in Chicago, June 16-18. Thanks to our loyal members, SVU is well along towards its goal of 400 Annual Conference registrations, despite the room block problems at the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel. Thank you for your support of this year’s Annual Conference! While online Annual Conference registration is no longer available, you can still register on-site at the SVU registration desk in the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel.

Marriott Hotel rooms

If you are still interested in attending the 2005 SVU Annual Conference, there are rooms still available at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare and the Chicago Marriott Suites O’Hare hotel. While we realize that staying at the Marriott O’Hare Airport hotels is not ideal, we are asking for your understanding this year.

To make a room reservation at the Marriott Chicago O’Hare, please call Marriott reservations at 1-800-228-9290 or 773-693-4444 and tell them you want to make a reservation there under the SVU room block at the SVU special rate of $159/night plus taxes. While the cut-off point for the SVU rate was June 1, hopefully they will still give it to you.

To make a room reservation at the Chicago Marriott Suites O’Hare, please call Marriott reservations at 1-800-228-9290 or 847-696-4400 and tell them you want to make a reservation there under the SVU room block at the SVU special rate of $169/night plus taxes.

Ground Transportation

SVU will provide complimentary ground transportation each morning from both Marriott O’Hare hotels to the Hyatt Regency Chicago downtown and each afternoon at the end of the SVU AC program from the Hyatt Regency Chicago to both Marriott O’Hare hotels. We also will provide additional ground transportation later in the evening on Thursday from the Hyatt to the Marriott O’Hare hotels for those registrants attending the Opening night reception in the exhibit hall from 5:30-6:30 pm. SVU also will provide late buses from the Hyatt Regency to the two Marriott O’Hare hotels for those SVU registrants who would like to stay in downtown Chicago for dinner and/or entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings. SVU is doing all that it can to accommodate your travel needs.

For a faster ground transportation alternative there also is a Chicago Transit Authority EL (elevated) train station one block from the Marriott Chicago O’Hare (in their parking lot) with direct service on a Blue Line train from there to the Clark & Lake EL stop near the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago for just $1.75 each way. From the Clark and Lake Station, you walk one block north to Wacker Drive along the Chicago River and then east approximately 5 blocks to the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel.

Thanks to the Annual Conference Committee, the content of this year’s SVU annual conference is top notch with excellent speakers doing presentations on very timely and informative topics. You will not want to miss this year’s presentations. However, SVU needs you, our loyal membership, to support the 2005 annual conference by being there to be part of the success.

SVU is doing everything it can to make the 28th SVU Annual Conference experience a positive one for everyone involved. I am personally asking you to team up with us now to make this year’s Annual Conference in Chicago the best attended meeting in SVU history.
