New York City Vascular Ultrasound Association
NYCVUA President Bill Del Valle reports that the SVU Affiliated Chapter met on March 23 at Maimonides Medical Center and that it was a great success in spite of the terrible weather. Natalia Markevich did a fine job of organizing the meeting and Sergio Salles-Cunha made an excellent presentation that covered numerous areas of vascular testing and ultrasound. Philips Medical Systems was again kind enough to sponsor the meeting and demonstrated their latest machine, the HD-11. Board members Josh Cruz and Chris Shen also helped immeasurably. Many ultrasound students in the New York metropolitan area attended the meeting, including those from Sanford Brown, Allied Medical Institute, LIU and Malloy College. Technologists who work in the medical centers of Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island made up the rest of the attendees. Bill said it is imperative that the NYCVUA members utilize the energy and enthusiasm from this meeting to fulfill our commitment to building the New York chapter and by extension the SVU. He invited all technologists in the metropolitan New York City area to join the NYCVUA or renew their membership because they have some exciting plans for the future.
