There is still time to register for SVU’s Vascular Ultrasound Introductory Interpretation Course, April 29-May 1 in This 2½ day introductory course on vascular ultrasound interpretation is designed to provide attendees with the necessary information to interpret vascular studies. A thorough understanding of the concepts of vascular diagnostic testing and diagnostic criteria is required before you can interpret vascular studies. The Course faculty, who all are experts in the field of vascular ultrasound, will assist you in understanding these concepts and diagnostic criteria. As the role of the vascular laboratory continues to expand, reliability and accuracy is dependent on informed technologists and physicians performing and interpreting vascular studies. Live demos of various vascular ultrasound studies will be held during the course. Who Should Attend Physicians and vascular technologists/sonographers who are working in the vascular ultrasound field and want to establish a strong knowledge base for the interpretation of vascular laboratory studies:
Course Objectives Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:
·
Understand the role and relevance of noninvasive vascular testing in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease
·
Differentiate between normal and abnormal Duplex and physiologic test findings
·
Relate these findings to the underlying anatomic/physiologic and hemodynamic changes attributable to vascular disease
·
Use recommended interpretation criteria, understanding the varying strengths and limitations of each test modality
·
Understand the important elements of composing and generating formal preliminary and final reports and
