As the new SVU Chapters Committee Listserv takes off, I want to encourage all Chapter Presidents to regularly partake in it. There is wonderful information to share. This service will allow us to head in the same direction, as SVU chapters, to meet the needs of vascular technologists throughout the country.

A website is a great way to contact your membership and perhaps make it easier for someone to join. Each of these sites are unique and can serve as templates for the rest of us. SVU has provided a link to all of these chapter websites from the SVU website, and we hope the chapters will also link to the SVU website.

Chapter Individual Recognition Award

The Chapters Committee is soliciting nominations now for the Outstanding Chapter Individual Recognition Award to be presented at the 2005 SVU Annual Conference in chicago in June. Please submit your nominations to burnss@summa-health.org with reasons as to why this person on an affiliated chapter is deserving of this award.

The North Jersey Vascular Association

The North Jersey Vascular Association will hold its Spring Meeting on Saturday, April 16, from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Contact: Jeanette Flannery, RVT, RDMS, at jeflannery@sbhcs.com or call 973-926-3458.

SVU Annual Conference

The SVU Annual Conference is June 16-18 in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. We are hoping to get a good attendance from all Chapters this year. The combined chapters and Membership Committee’s meeting will be held on Friday, June 17, from 5:00-6:00 pm. If you have suggestions on topics for the Chapters Committee meeting, please forward to me before June so we are prepared to discuss your issues.

Remember, according to SVU’s Policy & Procedure Manual, all chapter presidents are entitled to a 50% discount on the registration fee to attend the SVU Annual Conference, provided they are an SVU member. Thus, we hope to have an excellent representation of the chapter presidents in Chicago. See you in Chicago!
