SVU’s Government Relations Fund

As SVU Government Relations Committee Chair Bill Schroedter reported in the January issue of e-Spectrum, the SVU Government Relations Committee was very busy in 2004. Luckily, more than $18,000 was donated in 2004 in voluntary contributions to the SVU Government Relations Fund to offset our costs. A significant amount of these contributions were due to additional money added by members onto SVU dues renewal forms. Thank you! Contributions to the SVU Government Relations Fund are tax-deductible, and the money is used only for specific GR purposes, and does not go into the SVU general operating fund. Individual SVU members, their lab management, vascular physicians, vascular equipment companies, and SVU Chapters may wish to make a voluntary contribution in 2005 to the SVU Government Relations Fund for the following reasons:

  • To show your support of SVU’s legislative and regulatory efforts on behalf of the entire vascular ultrasound profession
  • In honor of someone who has been recognized by SVU with a special award, such as the Pioneer Award
  • In honor of someone who recently passed the RVT exam
  • In honor of a lab receiving accreditation or opening a new location
  • In support of a current vascular ultrasound student
  • In memory of someone who has died
  • Instead of holiday gifts to your lab staff
  • To commemorate other special events
  • To receive a tax deduction

The amount of the contribution does not matter. What does matter is that you support SVU’s Government Relations efforts in 2005.
