GBVT 2004 Fall Symposium

The 2004 Fall Symposium for Greater Boston Vascular Technologists (GBVT) Affiliated Chapter was held at the Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA, on Saturday, October 16, with 33 paid members attending. The lectures included:

  • Dr. Piotr Sobrieszczyk, who lectured on Vascular Stenting
  • Ann Marie Kupinski, PhD, who spoke on Abdominal Duplex and Venous Reflux
  • Paula Walsh, who gave a talk on the benefits of SVU membership
  • Dr. Alda Cossi, who presented a stimulating presentation of her volunteer work with an organization supplying refurbished imaging equipment to clinics in developing nations.

During the business meeting portion of the Symposium, the following proposals were discussed and voted upon, and all were approved:

  • Beginning with the elections in 2005, GBVT officers will be elected to two-year terms, with alternating officers elected each year.
  • Dues will be increased to $20/calender year
  • 2004 Election results (one year terms):
  • President: Paula Walsh
  • Vice President:Anita Harrington
  • Treasurer: Mary McMahon
  • Secretary: Ingrid Perry

The spring GBVT meeting will be a combined effort with two other New England groups; the Maine Vascular Technologists Association and the Northern New England Vascular Society. We have planned a fun-filled weekend with the Scotia Prince Cruises for the weekend of June 10, 2005.
