Mentor Assistance Available to Help You Develop Your Abstract for 2005 SVU Annual Conference

Have you ever wanted to submit an abstract to be considered for SVU’s Annual Conference, but didn’t know where to start or even how to write an abstract? The SVU Abstracts Committee would like to extend an offer to help you develop your ideas into a quality abstract for SVU’s 2005 Annual Conference in Chicago next June.

The Abstracts Committee is comprised of a group of SVU members who have successfully published and presented their own data. If you need assistance and direction in developing your abstract, or would like to have someone critique your preliminary work, members of the Abstracts Committee would be glad to serve as your mentor. Please contact the SVU national office (phone: 800-788-8346; fax: 301-459-5651; or email: svuinfo@svunet.org) and indicate your interest in having an Abstracts Committee member be your volunteer mentor. We then can make the arrangements to have a Committee member contact you to provide assistance.

In order to be considered for presentation at the 2005 SVU Annual Conference, all abstracts must be submitted to the SVU National Office by December 17, 2004. This means you still have more than three months to put your abstract together!

Additionally, lookat the article on “How to Write an Abstract” by Ann Marie Kupinski, PhD RVT FSVU. The article gives additional tips on how to write your abstract in a clear and concise fashion.

Don’t put off making your decision to submit an abstract for the 2005 SVU Annual Conference in Chicago. Remember, the deadline for submitting your abstract to the SVU National Office is December 17, 2004. As a bonus, if your abstract is submitted by the Dec. 17 deadline and accepted for oral presentation in Chicago next June, you will receive a $100 discount off the 2005 SVU Annual Conference registration fee.
