Online Job Center a Success

SVU’s Online Job Center has been a great success, growing every year since December 2001. As everyone knows, a professional society’s job postings are a huge benefit to being a member of any professional association, but especially SVU. As an article in the Washington Post recently stated, “Applying for jobs through such [member] ads is far more efficient than applying through general job boards such as Monster. Employers like posting these targeted ads because they can be more confident that they will attract qualified applicants.”

Employers like Kathleen Carter, RN BSN RVT FSVU, of Vascular and Transplant Specialists in Norfolk, VA, used the SVU Online Job Center to post an open position and didn’t list it anywhere else. “The entire process of posting the position was easily completed online and we received many excellent candidates,” says Carter. “I have already hired one new employee who saw our ad on SVU’s Online Job Center on the SVU website, and I will be interviewing two more. It is definitely the only place you need to look if you want qualified candidates in vascular ultrasound.”
