October is Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month
Recognizing the importance of increasing public awareness of medical ultrasound and promoting its value in health care, SVU and five other medical ultrasound organizations have joined together to again sponsor Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month (MUAM) in October 2004.

CMS Launches "Fistula First" Initiative to Improve Care and Quality of Life for Hemodialysis Patients The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced on April 14, 2004 that it is leading a national initiative to increase the use of fistulas in providing hemodialysis for Medicare beneficiaries with kidney failure, which is also known as end stage renal disease (ESRD).
