SVU 2004 Annual Conference

What's on Your Mind?

During SVU's 2004 Annual Conference in June at the Vascular Annual Meeting 2004 in Anaheim , there will be an opportunity for discussion during a special session on Thursday, June 3, titled "Key Issues in the Vascular Laboratory Today." Several key issues of primary interest to the vascular technologist/sonographer practicing in the field will be discussed. However, we need input from SVU members now as to which topics you would like to be presented for discussion at this special session. There also will be open time during the special session for participation and comment from the audience. We would like to know your top five issues. Please select from the following suggested choices and or add another issue of your choice. Board Directors will take the five most popular topics for discussion during that session.

  1. Workloads & Productivity
  2. Ergonomics
  3. Aging of the SVU membership
  4. Screening
  5. D-dimer and after hours venous studies
  6. Multiple carotid criteria/SRU consensus- what should we be using?
  7. Credentialed/accredited vs. non-accredited/credentialed studies - how many repeat studies are needed?
  8. Proposed ARDMS single physics exam - pros and cons
  9. Technologists/sonographers "reading" studies- how far do we take it?'
  10. CME/distance learning; advantages and disadvantages
  11. The widespread use of travelers - variability of skills/experience - how does this affect the vascular lab?
  12. Other issue that is important to you?

Please send an email by April 2, 2004 to svuinfo@svunet.org with your selected top 5 topics. We greatly appreciate your valuable feedback. Thanks, see you in Anaheim!
