Self-Directed Registry Review Materials and General Ultrasound Education CDs

ULTRA P.A.S.S.© Registry Review Workbooks (various modalities)

Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute takes registry review to the next level with their all new “ULTRA” P.A.S.S. Registry Review Workbook series. Consistent with newly revised ARDMS outlines, the ULTRA workbooks cover material for the abdominal, breast, general physics, OB-GYN, vascular physics and vascular technology exams. Other modalities will soon follow (Adult Echo and Cardiac Physics still available in pre-ULTRA editions, content is current).

Completely new in the ULTRA workbooks is a companion DVD that features real-time exams illustrating various pathologies referenced in the workbooks. The new companion DVD is compatible with set-top DVD players, DVD-Rom drives, DVD-R drives, and DVD+R drives.

Each spiral-bound ULTRA P.A.S.S. workbook also includes: self tests after each section, all new images, a more in-depth table of contents, and at least three or more digital audio CD’s with complete chapter narration. The audio CD’s can be played on current portable and car CD players or multisession computer CD drives. Workbook pages range from 133-240 depending on modality.

CME’s: 10.0-17.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits ($50.00 processing fee)

ULTRA P.A.S.S.© Registry Review Flashcards (various modalities)

The ULTRA P.A.S.S. Registry Review Flashcards provide a method of testing to determine the areas of weakness that may require further study, while at the same time reinforcing the material with which you are already comfortable. The flashcards also contain audio CD narration of continuous questions and answers to further reinforce the study process. Each set of flashcards can be submitted for 12.0–15.0 AMA Category 1 CMEs per topic (also meets ARDMS requirements).

Each set of flashcards contains an average of 335 questions and answers (including assorted images, diagrams and charts) designed after the actual registry format. The decks measure 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 for convenient carrying, have space on each card for personal notes, and have two removable fastener rings to allow the decks to be shuffled to change question order. The new ULTRA P.A.S.S. versions are available for general physics, abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular technology, vascular physics and adult echo. Breast and cardiac physics flashcards still current and available on previous edition.

The accompanying narrated digital audio CDs allows for continual study while spending time commuting in your car, jogging with a portable “Walkman”, or even sitting at your computer (CDs and flashcards are designed to be used separately; questions pertaining to the diagrams or images are excluded on the narrated recordings).

CME’s: 12.0-15.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits ($20.00–$25.00 processing fee)

P.A.S.S. Registry Review Interactive CD Exams (various modalities)

The P.A.S.S. Registry Review Interactive CD Exams are excellent self-assessment tools for the medical professional preparing to take an ultrasound registry examination or for the educator who has a desire to enhance the current registry review curriculum. The questions posed in each of the P.A.S.S. interactive CD exams are based on current registry examination outlines and are presented in similar formats. The P.A.S.S. CDs offer:

  • An unlimited number of times you may take the practice exams — whether taking an exam 8 or 1,000 times, the CD will never lock you out
  • An automatic timer that allows you to measure your test-taking time improvement
  • A bank of 400–500 questions, of which 120–170 (depending on the specialty) are randomly selected each time an exam is taken
  • Randomized order in which the answers are presented each time an exam is taken, allowing you to take a different practice exam each time, virtually eliminating the chance of memorizing the questions and answers.

Each CD exam comes with easy-to-follow, on-screen instructions, images, and diagrams presented in multiple choice format. Upon successful completion (70% or better) of the included CME quiz, the viewer can submit the answer sheet for 15.0-18.0 AMA Category 1 CMEs.
