LANHAM, MD, June 13, 2007 — Carol Kozusko, an ultrasound student at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ, has been selected as the student representative on the Board of Directors of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) for the 2007-2008 academic year. She is a resident of Eatontown, NJ.

In this appointed position, Carol will attend two SVU Board of Director meetings, and participate in any SVU Board conference calls. She will have an excellent opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the SVU and its Board of Directors, and in return contribute her input and unique ultrasound student perspective to the SVU Board discussions. This is a non-paid, not-voting position on the SVU Board, but SVU will provide a complimentary hotel room for Carol for each Board meeting and reimburse her for her travel expenses to attend the two SVU Board meetings. The first Board meeting she attended was June 6, 2007, in Baltimore, MD, prior to SVU's 2007 Annual Conference. The second SVU Board meeting will be Dec. 7-8, 2007 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Carol also will become a member of her choice on either the SVU Chapters Subcommittee or the Membership Subcommittee and provide an ultrasound student's perspective to their activities and projects. She also will be profiled in a future issue of SVU's monthly online newsletter — e-Spectrum — on the SVU website (www.svunet.org).

At the conclusion of her almost year-long appointment to the SVU Board of Directors, Carol will be asked to write an article for the e-Spectrum online newsletter describing her experiences in serving on the SVU Board of Directors. She is expected to graduate in March 2008 and enter the ultrasound profession.
