| LANHAM, MD, September 15, 2006 - The Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) has been selected for the #18 spot on the RT Image magazine's roster of the top 25 "Most Influential" in radiology. The September 11, 2006 issue of RT Image magazine, the weekly news magazine for the radiology profession, includes an article on the top 25 individuals, institutions and organizations in radiology. SVU was selected as #18 on the list for "its serious commitment to two main principles: providing educational opportunities to those who wish to expand their knowledge of vascular imaging, and offering legislative advocacy on behalf of the profession." SVU Executive Director Steve Haracznak states, "What makes this selection so special is that the list was compiled based on reader comments, and not from the magazine's editorial staff. To have the readers of RT Image magazine select SVU as #18 in the top 25 list of radiology leaders is very significant to us and ratifies our dedicated efforts to provide vascular ultrasound education and legislative advocacy across the board to all who do vascular exams. SVU is honored by the inclusion and grateful to be identified with other influential institutions, associations, and professionals. We are fortunate to have very dedicated members as well as committed and hardworking officers, board directors, committee chairs, other volunteers, and staff." Added SVU President Melissa Vickery, LPN-B, RVT, "SVU has proved that number of members do not always imply success, it is what our 4,100 members contribute and participate in that determines SVU's success. Our vascular education program and legislative/regulatory advocacy efforts are two fine examples of this commitment." The Society for Vascular Ultrasound, which will celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2007, represents vascular technologists, vascular surgeons, vascular lab managers, nurses, and other allied medical ultrasound professionals. Since its founding in 1977, SVU has been dedicated to the advancement of noninvasive vascular technology used in the diagnosis of vascular disease, through education programs, publications, and certification.. The SVU 30th Anniversary Annual Conference will be celebrated June 7-9, 2007 in Baltimore, MD. All of our members look forward to commemorating a 30 year history of serving the vascular ultrasound profession. |
