Kathryn Busch, DMU, Receives Prestigious D.E. Strandness Award from SVU

LANHAM, MD, June 14, 2006 -- The Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) announces the The 2006 D.E. Strandness, MD, Scientific Award for the outstanding oral presentation of scientific research in vascular technology was presented to Kathryn Busch, DMU, Camperdown Vascular Lab, Camperdown, NSW, Australia, for her scientific paper on "High Resolution Duplex Ultrasound Imaging Proves a High Incidence of an Arterial Neovascularization."

This award was established in 1987 in honor of Dr. D.E. Strandness, the acknowledged "Father of Noninvasive Diagnosis," who died in January 2002. This award is presented annually to a SVU member who is the primary author and presenter of a scientific paper selected for presentation at the SVU Annual Conference. Its purpose is to recognize outstanding scientific research in vascular technology. Parks Medical Electronics, Aloha, OR, sponsored the 2006 D.E. Strandness, MD Scientific Award for excellence in research for a second year. This award was presented at SVU's 29th Annual Conference, June 1-13, 2006 in Philadelphia, PA, during the 2006 Vascular Annual Meeting.
