SVU Presents 3 Poster Awards at 2005 Annual Conference in Chicago

LANHAM, MD, July 11, 2005 -- The Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) announces three poster awards presented at SVU’s 28th Annual Conference, June 16-18, 2005 in Chicago, IL.

The Excellence in a Case Study Poster Presentation Award, sponsored by the Suncoast Society of Vascular Technology (SSVT), was presented to Courtney Nelms, BS RVT RDMS, Senior Technologist, Vascular and Transplant Specialists, Norfolk, VA, for her case study poster titled “Does a Monophasic Femoral Waveform Always Indicate AortoIliac Disease?”

The Best Student Poster Presentation Award was given to Parveen N. Joseph, BA, University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, for her poster on “Examining the Brachial Artery Reactivity Curve Measured by B-Mode Ultrasound in the Buffalo Cardio-Metabolic Occupational Police Stress (BCOPS) Pilot Study.” This award was sponsored by DataStar Systems, Inc. of Crystal Lake, IL.

The Excellence in a Scientific Poster Presentation Award presented to Janice E. Giuca, BSN RVT, Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT, for her poster on “Lower Extremity Deep Vein Thrombosis: Can an Emergent Referral System be Improved?” Sponsorship of this poster award was by www.vascular-web.com.
