LANHAM, MD, July 11, 2005 -- “The Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) 28th Annual Conference in Chicago was a huge success, thanks to all who helped through their participation in abstract submission, invited speaker sessions, workshops, tutorials, sponsorships and educational grants. We had almost 400 registrants for the meeting who traveled from 40 states and 11 foreign countries,” states Kathleen Carter, BSN RN RVT FSVU, SVU Annual Conference Program Chair. The SVU 28th Annual Conference took place during the Vascular Annual Meeting 2005, June 16-18 in Chicago, IL.

Several major corporate sponsors have enabled us to present vascular ultrasound awards to acknowledge experts in the vascular ultrasound fields, to invite special speakers, to provide scholarships to attend the Annual Conference, to provide hands-on tutorials, educational sessions, innovative Lunch with the Experts sessions, and to address our members on important endovascular practices and emerging technologies. The major sponsors this year included Philips Ultrasound, D.E. Hokanson, GE Healthcare Ultrasound, Parks Medical Electronics, Unetixs Vascular, Inc., and W.L. Gore and Associates.

“We thank all of our major sponsors who helped to make SVU’s 2005 Annual Conference during the 2005 Vascular Annual Meeting such a success for all who attended it,” said Carter. The 2006 SVU Annual Conference will take place June 1-3 in Philadelphia, PA.
