New Student Representative to be Selected for 2008 SVU Board of Directors

The SVU Board of Directors is pleased to again announce the solicitation of applications for the SVU Student Representative position on the Board, effective May 1, 2008. Last year Carol Kozusko of Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ, was SVU’s third student representative on the SVU Board of Directors. Go to http://www.svunet.org/members/students.htm to see information and an article from a former student representative about serving on the SVU Board of Directors.

Applications being accepted for 2008-2009 Student Board Representative

Starting in January 2008 SVU will begin accepting applications from SVU student members who are interested in being the new student representative to the SVU Board of Directors for 2008-2009. This is a great opportunity for a Student Member of SVU to learn about the inner workings of the SVU, and in return contribute his/her input and unique student perspective to the SVU Board as someone who is new to the field of vascular ultrasound. The appointed Student Board Representative will serve a one-year, unpaid, non-voting term on the SVU Board of Directors, effective May 1, 2008. The selected student will attend the 2008 SVU Annual Conference at the Vascular Annual Meeting 2008 in San Diego, CA, June 5-7, 2008, including the SVU Board of Directors meeting there on June 4, 2008. The selected Student Representative’s travel, meal and hotel expenses will be covered by SVU. He/she also will be invited to attend the December 2008 Board meeting in a location yet to be determined.

The Student Board Representative also will serve at his/her choosing on either the SVU Membership Committee or its Chapters Subcommittee. Once selected, SVU will profile the new Student Board Representative in an issue of the e-Spectrum online newsletter. At the conclusion of the student’s year-long appointment to the SVU Board of Directors, he/she will be expected to write an article for e-Spectrum describing his/her experiences serving on the SVU Board of Directors and committee service.
