December 2007 | Vol. 25, No. 12 Barbara Rhodes Steps Down as JVU Editor After 12 Years of Service |
|
After 12 years as Editor of SVU’s Journal for Vascular Ultrasound, Barbara A. Rhodes, BA, RVT, FASA, FSVU, has decided to step down with the publication of the December 2007 (4Q) JVU issue. She reports this decision is the result of increasing family responsibilities as well as an increasing workload at Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, OR. The SVU Board of Directors and staff express sincere thanks to Barb for her outstanding job in editing the Journal for 12 years, resulting in JVU being acknowledged by many in the vascular ultrasound profession as one of the leading ultrasound Journals. During Barb’s term as JVU Editor the Journal was never published late – quite an achievement for her to be proud of – considering that she was working full-time in a vascular lab. In the Society’s 30 year history, we have had only four Journal editors, so Barb’s 12 year commitment to the Journal is truly outstanding. Congratulations Barbara and thanks! New JVU Co-EditorsSVU is happy to announce that long-time SVU members Barton Bean, RVT FSVU (the first SNIVT President in 1977) and Steven Talbot, RVT FSVU, have been named the new Co-Editors of the Journal, effective with the March 2008 (1Q) Journal issue, as together they lead JVU into a new generation. We are sure all SVU members join us in thanking Barbara for her outstanding leadership as JVU Editor for 12 years, and welcome Bart and Steve as the new Co-Editors of the Journal. Steve will be responsible for obtaining new manuscripts for future JVU issue and welcomes SVU members to submit manuscripts to him by email at Steven.Talbot@hsc.utah.edu. Bart Bean will be responsible for working with the Journal printer and can be reached by email at Barton.Bean@gmail.com. Details on manuscript submission are on the “Information for Authors” page at the back of each JVU issue. |
