2007 was a Banner Year for SVU Membership

I am pleased to announce that SVU has set a record for new memberships in 2007 with 810 new members. The previous new member record of 757 was set in 2005 and we have exceeded that by 53 with still a month to go! Our success this year has been through the dedicated efforts of the national office staff and their direct mailings to new RVTs and from attendees at our educational courses. As the “Voice of Vascular Ultrasound”, SVU will continue to strive in 2008 to remain on the forefront as a leader in the vascular profession.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our members for your continued support and look forward to hearing from you on ways we can enhance your membership experience. As you may already know there will not be an increase in membership dues for calendar year 2008, so I encourage you to renew your SVU membership today. Membership in a professional organization such as SVU can provide you with the necessary tools needed in today’s workplace and demonstrates your commitment and dedication to your career as a professional in the vascular community. Labs with at least three technologists may want to explore becoming a SVU “Signature Lab” for 2008 where all technologists working in the lab and at least one physician are SVU members, earning you a discounted membership rate and a nice plaque to display in your lab. In 2007 SVU had 22 Signature Lab members, so we hope to increase that number for 2008. Have a safe and happy holiday season.
