and then transferred to our bank for payment using a secure server.
We encourage all our members and prospective members to utilize
our online features because it allows us to give you faster service

What if I lose my SVU Member's Only password?
Your password to access the Member's Only section of the website
is your Member ID number. Your Username is your last name. If you
cannot locate your membership card or the mailing label from your
last Journal, contact us at 1-800-788-8346 where we can assist
you.

MEMBERSHIP
How do I join?

for membership. Unfortunately, due to high volume, membership
applications cannot be accepted over the phone. Please use our online
application or print it out and fax to SVU Headquarters at 301-459-5651.
SVU has a calendar year membership membership expires at
the end of December each year.
Has SVU received my payment?
It is our goal to process payments received from the mail within
one week of receipt those received online within two business days;
during busy seasons (December - February), it may take longer. Please
remember it may take us two weeks to receive your mail, including
processing at the bank. Please contact the SVU national office at
1-800-788-8346 to be sure your payment has been received.
MEMBER PUBLICATIONS
When is the Journal mailed out?
SVU's quarterly journal, the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound,
comes out the middle of March, June, September, and December.
It can take up to two weeks in the US or up to six weeks for international
members. If you have not received a Journal, contact Missi McLean
at 1-800-788-8346 or svuinfo@svunet.org.
How do I submit articles to the Journal?
To submit an article to the Journal first read the Information for Authors. This information is also available in the back of each Journal. There you will find contact information for JVU's
Co-Editor, Steven R. Talbot.
MEETINGS
When does the Preliminary Program come out?
SVU's Annual Conference is usually held in June each year. The
preliminary program is available in January or February. The next SVU Annual Conferences
are:

CAREER
How can I become a vascular technologist?
First, visit our section Considering
a Career in Vascular Technology? We recommend a well rounded,
accredited sonography program that meets both didactic and clinical
instruction and is recognized by the American Registry of Diagnostic
Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Vascular technology is taught through
two allied health care disciplines; Diagnostic Medical Sonography,
and Cardiovascular Technology. Such programs can be found by visiting
the websites of the Commission on
Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
and the American Registry of Diagnostic
Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
How can I earn CME's?
SVU's Annual Conference typically awards 20+ hours of credit to
attendees. Our other conferences — Vascular Interpretation and Current
Issues — also award CMEs. Our website also provides an opportunity
to earn credits online via the Online JVU tests
How can I post a job opening?
All employers may post opening at SVU's Online Job Center. Employers may also want to solicit resumes from SVU student members listed on the Student Directory. |
