SVU Special Vascular Laboratory
Testing and Management Course

This one day course is being presented by expert educators in the vascular ultrasound field and is a collaborative SVU/SVS event that precedes the 2007 Vascular Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD.

The SVU 2007 Annual Conference starts the next day (June 7) through Saturday, June 9. The program is divided into three sections, encompassing Vascular Laboratory Management, Evaluation of Endovascular Interventions, and Screening for Vascular Disease. Panel discussion segments are included at the completion of each section to provide valuable interaction between the faculty and the course participants regarding these pivotal issues in today’s Vascular Laboratory.

Who Should Attend

Physicians and vascular technologists/sonographers who are working in the vascular ultrasound profession and want to establish a strong knowledge base for the interpretation of vascular laboratory studies:

  • Physicians (vascular surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, neurologists…) seeking to gain or improve their overall knowledge and skills in vascular lab testing and management.
  • Vascular technologists/sonographers who are seeking to further their understanding of vascular lab testing and management.
  • Any physicians and vascular technologists/sonographers who require continuing medical education in vascular technology to maintain either laboratory accreditation or individual credentials.
Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Update knowledge of current Vascular Laboratory management strategies
  • Review national ultrasound quality standards and issues
  • Identify criteria used to evaluate duplex findings in various endovascular settings
  • Evaluate vascular screening protocols and guidelines
