Technical Manager, Vascular Laboratory

Location: Mineola, Long Island, NY

Winthrop-University Hospital's Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory aids in the care of inpatients and outpatients with vascular disease. About 5,000 examinations are performed annually. The Vascular Lab was the first fully accredited hospital-based facility on Long Island by the ICAVL.

We seek a Technical Manager for the Vascular Lab, who will coordinate specimen handling, delivery, specimen testing, and results. Manager will also be responsible for staffing and scheduling. EOE-m/f/d/v.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelors Degree and RVT
  • Full working knowledge of vascular equipment and physics and all aspects of imaging and patient flow
  • Good interactive skills

Research Specialist in Animal Sonography

Location: Urbana, IL

The Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks applicants for a full-time Research Specialist in Animal Sonography for small animal scanning and quantitative ultrasonic data acquisition using high-frequency, array-based animal research ultrasound systems including the VisualSonics Vevo 2100. The sonographer will be responsible for high-quality scanning of small animals to address research questions by a wide spectrum of research investigators. The ideal set of scanning skills includes contrast echocardiographic and abdominal ultrasound, routine abdomen, obstetrics, echocardiography in small animals. Previous animal experience is desirable wherein the sonographer interpreted images and differentiated normal/abnormal anatomy and pathology based on a working knowledge of ultrasound procedures and techniques; performed a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures that required independent judgment; and initiative is highly desirable. The procedures include but are not limited to contrast ultrasound, abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, arterial and venous vascular, echocardiograms, and interventional guided animal research procedures. Equivalent human sonography experiences will also be considered.
