The Kentucky Vascular Society has been in existence since 1990 serving diagnostic medical sonographers/vascular technologists throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Applications for membership may be obtained by contacting any of the chapter officers by e-mail. Dues are for the calendar year and due each January 1. Please print application and mail to the treasurer, Betty Clifton, with the appropriate dues.

Sonographer/Technologist: $30.00 per year
Student: $15.00 per year

November 3, 2007

Sonography conference at St. Catharine College in St. Catharine, Kentucky near Springfield, Kentucky. More than 60 regional sonographers attended the first sonography conference put on by the Diagnostic Sonography Program at St. Catharine College. Attendees earned up to 6 CME’s. Speaking at the conference were two SVU/KVS members Vicki Gatz and Dennis Walter. Vendors supporting the conference included: Philips Medical Systems and Zonare. St. Catharine is hoping to make this an annual event.

September 29, 2007

For the fall 2007 KVS meeting the chapter participated in a joint meeting with ONKIVT in northern Kentucky. This was the second time KVS has jointly participated in this meeting which again was a huge success. Speakers included Bob Scissons, technical director at Jobst Clinic, J. P. Hughes, Treasurer of SVU, Michael Schwebler, President-elect of SVU, David Parlato, Chair of the SVU Advocacy Committee. We also heard from Drs. Schwarcz and Kilaru. Attendees earned 6 CME’s.

Vendors supporting the conference included: Axess Ultrasound, Philips Medical Systems, Toshiba, Viasys Healthcare, Siemens Medical Solutions, Parks Medical, Midwest Ultrasound,GE Healthcare and Zonare.
