Don’t Wait Until the End of the Year to Earn SVU-CME Credits

The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registers technologists and sonographers in all ultrasound specialties. In order to maintain these credentials (RVT, RDMS, RDCS), registrants are required to earn a total of thirty (30) continuing education credit hours in a three-year period (triennium). The SVU-CME is recognized by the ARDMS for recertification credit. The SVU-CME may be used to maintain registry in any ARDMS specialty.

SVU offers several ways for members and nonmembers to earn SVU-CMEs and Category 1 CMEs:

Online

Earn Online SVU-CMEs from taking a test on articles available on the online version of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound (JVU) — FREE to SVU Members. These tests are also available in the print version of JVU at a discounted rate for members. There are three article test in each JVU issue that offer 1 CME for each test. SVU offers a total of 12 SVU-CMEs for tests in all four JVU issues each year.

SVU Educational Programs

Attend any of SVU’s regional Introductory or Advanced Interpretation Courses (Category I AMA CMEs and SVU-CMEs). Discount Registration Rate for SVU Members.

Annual Conference

Attend SVU's Annual Conference (SVU-CMEs and Category 1 AMA CMEs). Discount Registration Rate for SVU Members.

CME for Authors

Individuals who are lead author in an SVU publication are eligible for SVU-CME credit, Content must fall into one of the following categories:

  • Lead author of an article published in the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound - up to 10 credits
  • Poster accepted for presentation at the SVU Annual Conference - up to 5 credits

Authors must complete the SVU-CME application and submit any associated fees within one year of publication or presentation.
